Indulge in the pristine landscape of Alentejo
Herdade do Sobroso, located between the banks of the Guadiana River and the Serra do Mendro mountain range, is today a prime example of integration between nature, winemaking, and hospitality. With 1600 hectares of cork oak forest, woodland and vineyards, and a winery that respects traditional Alentejo architecture. located in the central area of Alentejo Herdade do Sobroso is ideally located for day trips to historical cities like Évora and Monsaraz. Guests can also just relax and enjoy the farm's facilities or engage in a wine tasting.
The project is currently led by Sofia Ginestal Machado, and winemaker Filipe Teixeira Pinto. Together, they have created a solid range of highly successful wines, such as the top-of-the-range Arché and Élevage, the restaurant champions Herdade do Sobroso Cellar Selection, or the structural Grande Reserva and Reserva.
But Sobroso is much more than wine. It is also a wine tourism destination where Alentejo authenticity meets the comfort of relaxed luxury. From rooms with pool access to the gastronomy led by award-winning Chef Dona Josefa — whom the press has already dubbed the “queen of açordas” — to unique experiences such as hot air balloon rides, picnics by the river or photographic safaris around the property, everything here invites contemplation and a return to one's roots.
