My Dublin

With Isabella Kurek

@bmusic_schoolofmusic

Isabella Kurek is the founder of B’ Music School of Music and Performing Arts in Ireland and Portugal.

Born in Poland, Isabella has called Dublin in Ireland her home for nearly 20 years. The land where the Guinness flows smoother than most conversations, and even the statues have stories to tell (some of them mildly scandalous). This city has a writer’s soul, where every pub and restaurant has its own story. Sea breezes, sheep that occasionally hold up traffic, shamrock shenanigans, narrow cobbled streets, and places where nobody cares about traffic lights. You’ve got to love Dublin!

Marina Malahide

My place where yachts sail, flapping in the breeze, people actually walk their dogs in matching raincoats, and the seafood is so fresh. It is a colourful village just north of Dublin. Sometimes I sleep on the boat, which is my meditation cave and time for change – understanding the flow of life. Very often I meet interesting people sailing from many parts of the world, and I love catching the sound of ropes beating the flagpole.

Little Museum of Dublin

The most charming museum in town, telling the story from Irish roots through Vikings to the present day – all in a 30-minute trip led by an actor, singer and Irish storyteller. It is an award-winning guided tour not to be missed!

Wicklow Glencullen Adventure Park

At Wicklow Glencullen Adventure Park bikes rule and and the Thig’n Alluis barrel panoramic yurt sauna is a big attraction. The GAP is a place that always feels like walking through a fantasy film – complete with rolling fog, ancient ruins, and the beauty of woodland. This is where I spend most of my weekends at my son’s MTB practice. Just don’t say: ‘Break a leg’! I always take my hiking boots, a camera, and my phone, which can catch the views that beg for panorama mode.

Fleet Street East – Medley

My favourite place to taste the best and most outstanding Irish food is on Fleet Street East. Medley is based in Dublin city centre and is run by its famous owner, founder, and chef, Andrew Rudd.

Electric Picnic in Stradbally

The biggest three-day music festival for all generations, across all genres. What I like most is the diversity! You’ll find people from so many countries, speaking the same music language, having an amazing time together. I had the chance to meet Billie Eilish, Raye, The Script. From opera singers to surprise gigs in the woods – it is “a magical fever dream you’ll never forget.” The cherry on top? Former students and teachers of B’ Music performing.
