The Portuguese architecture caught my eye and I began to capture, through my lens, the details which often go unnoticed. The tiles, the doors, the windows. It is also with these elements, photographed by me, that I produce crafts: very Portuguese souvenirs.
As a mom, I always plan the days with my daughter around kid-friendly locations. The best place for family time in Faro is Jardim da Alameda, with a playground, a lot of greenery, a library, coffee shops and beautiful peacocks everywhere.
When I feel homesick I go to “My‘o Meu” a Polish-owned restaurant serving delicious dumplings – pierogi, and other Polish specialities, but also tasty homemade pasta and desserts.
To make a trip to Faro beach more special, I like to take a ferry boat through the Ria Formosa Natural Park. It’s one of the most peaceful and inspiring ways to see the Algarve’s natural beauty. If you are lucky, you get to see wild flamingos flying over. I often return from those tours full of new ideas and, of course, photographs.
You can find me most often at Praia de Faro. I love to walk barefoot, and feel the salty breeze that reminds me how lucky I am to live here. My favourite lunch location is “Zé Maria”, a cosy restaurant right on the beach, where the seafood and fish are always fresh and the view over the ocean makes every meal feel special.
