Marine Hambardzumyan is a world traveller and blogger from Armenia who has called Europe home for the last few years.

I lived in Prague and Italy before finally settling in my favorite destination so far: Lisbon. Recently, I decided to share my life in Lisbon—and beyond—through a blog, where I post about the hidden gems I discover along the way. I absolutely love it! My constant curiosity led me to move a lot within the city and now I find myself in Campolide, a neighborhood that feels the most authentic. Campolide offers the perfect balance of city life and a quiet retreat.

One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood is O Cantinho do Alfredo, a cozy Portuguese restaurant. Their traditional dishes make it a go-to spot for a nice local meal. Apart from that, Campolide has many hidden gems for food lovers. Local bakeries serve fresh pão de Deus (a coconut-topped sweet bread) and, of course, classic pastel de nata.

For a more active side of life, I love playing padel at CIT Padel Amoreiras. The courts provide a great way to stay fit while enjoying Lisbon’s sunny weather.

Amoreiras Mall is another great spot especially for catching a movie at its very nice cinema, which I often visit for a relaxing evening. Close to it, there’s Honest Greens, my go-to place for a healthy lunch and a great workstation when I need a productive yet cozy atmosphere. It’s places like these that make life in Lisbon feel so dynamic.

Monsanto Forest Park is definitely one of the biggest perks of living in Campolide. As the city’s largest green space, it’s perfect for short hikes, jogging, or just a nice picnic with friends.

What I love most about it is its local feel—small cafés where neighbors greet each other by name, traditional pastelarias that serve some of the best pastries in town, and a slower pace that makes you appreciate Lisbon beyond its tourist hotspots. Simply walking around Campolide is a pleasure. The neighborhood’s hills offer beautiful city views, and the mix of old and new architecture tells a story of Lisbon’s character. Whether it’s discovering a new café, enjoying a sunset walk, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, this neighborhood has truly become my home.
